TEQ Black & White Shift Knob Cap
Patent Pending Toolless Removal Caps
What makes our shift knobs special is our toolless cap design removal system. Our pending toolless cap removal using a magnet countersunk and machine-pressed into a lathed billet core with a beveled floor. Our utility patent covers any interchangeable cap design without the use of tools, among other elements. The design allows you to easily swap out the design on your shift knob by pressing down on the corner of the cap with your thumb (toolless). When the cap is pressed down on any outside edge, it drops into a beveled floor which pops the other side up. Once you have the magnetized cap up, simply remove it and exchange it with another cap design.
TEQ: The logo is actually written in Japanese Katakana. Toyota used to be Toyoda which changed around 1936 to Toyota due to the lucky Number 8 in Japanese culture. The original logo changed from “Toyoda” to “Toyota” because there were two fewer strokes (10 vs. 8) in the Japanese Katakana. The da took 10 strokes and the ta takes just eight strokes, In Japanese culture, 8 is considered to be a lucky number.
With the TrailMade ecosystem of shift knob cap designs, you can run any design you want, and change them on the fly. This design is the first of its kind and is built for the mod-driven 4Runner owner in all of us.
